Unmasking American Capitalism: The Brainwashing Exposed

Updated: Mar 14

The American Dream is now a nightmare and the land of the Free means 'freedom' is to choose between 30 brands of sugary cereal that masks the illusion of actual choice.

My time in America showed me a few concerning truths about its people, but most concerning was not the Burger King sign so big I mistook it for the moon, but the emerging class-war disguised as a culture war. The insidious creep of capitalism has deep fried its way directly into the veins of American society that its citizens actually accept the reality that prioritizes profit over people, and I believe they're one burger bite away from a full blown cardiac arrest.

In fact, Americans choose the appearance of Independence over their own goddamn human rights. The middle class in America are particularly brainwashed as they do not see themselves as exploited and oppressed by Capitalism, instead their delusions cater a defensive fantasy where they truly believe to be temporarily embarrassed millionaires, which blinds them to the fact this downfall in their country is not just economics, it's about control.

I have observed Americans in all social classes to have become desensitized to the subtle yet pervasive influence of capitalist ideologies in almost everything they do. They're fed a constant stream of propaganda similarly parasitic to North Korea, though they might not be as overtly Orwellian, convincing them that the pursuit of materialism and possession is the ultimate goal of life. I am not sure they know what real happiness even feels like anymore.

They spend their time bitching about identity, mental health or traditionalist ideology so angry at the world pointing fingers at each other unaware of the masters pulling at their strings above. In fact, it feels like the Rich and Powerful are actively working to keep the social classes distracted, divided, and dis-empowered.

Instead of addressing systemic inequality, the ruling class stokes cultural battles between race, gender, politics, identity to keep their people fighting each other rather than uniting against the economic oppression we are all facing.

Education replaced with algorithms; as for self education, it is being killed off, it's been gutted replaced with curated social media content that feeds propaganda through shallow consumable content where libraries, public schools and journalism are all under attack.

They've destroyed autonomy, the ability to own property, grow food, and be self sufficient is shrinking. The housing market isn't affordable, food prices are skyrocketing and everything is subscription based, meaning you rent your life instead of owning anything.

Your data is collected to predict and manipulate your behavior keeping you comfortable enough to not revolt and question the system, while artificial scarcity runs rampant. There is enough food, housing and resources for everyone but artificial scarcity keeps you fighting for more, and looking down on people who 'didn't get theirs' for 'not working hard enough' like any of us had a choice where or what we are born into.

In fact, surveillance is so advanced in the 21st century we are seeing a repeat in history not of Nazism but of the last big invention; the internet, and the class divide from it. See like the railroad boom widened the wealth gap between the elite and working class in the past, the tech revolution is now exasperating income inequality. Both innovations brought unprecedented economic growth but also concentrated wealth and class anger as the power was in the hands of the few leaving many behind.

Think about it: your online activity is worth money, but you don't see a dime. You're actually paying them for things like a blue check, while they're making money off the data you hand over. In essence, they don't want a self sufficient and untied population, which would benefit America as a whole, they want to keep you busy fighting over identity and mental health, struggling to survive to never challenge the system. I dealt with this in my own life recently where someone powerful decided to influence my roommates and keep me exhausted so I'd never fight back.

By controlling Americans behavior, the ruling class ensure their wealth stays concentrated at the top.

They think healthcare is a privilege, rather than a human right due to the influence of private insurance. That student debt is a personal responsibility rather than a systemic issue created by for-profit education system. Additionally, the idea that people who are struggling financially are simply not working hard enough rather than acknowledging wage stagnation.

I don't see Red or Blue, no McNazi's are not followers of just one particular ideology, they're all loyal disciples of the almighty dollar, blindly consuming the propaganda fed to them by a corporate machine.

Leaving America for me was like going home to tell my parents about the weird neighbor kid who microwaved their hamster in front of me. I am disappointed in how much hatred you have for each other in a fight you need to unite to win.
